The City Manager is appointed by the Mayor, confirmed by the City Council and serves as the administrative head of the city government. The City Manager is responsible for the City’s daily operations, including decisions relating to staff, resources and provision of the daily services, enforcement of City laws and ordinances, preparation of the annual budget and attendance at Council meetings.
He holds a doctorate in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University. He also holds Masters degrees in Urban Planning and Public Administration and a B.A. in Government from Florida State University.
Bio of Dr. Danny O. Crew, City Manager
Dr. Danny O. Crew was appointed City Manager in January, 2004. Prior to Miami Gardens, Dr. Crew served as City Manager for Gastonia, North Carolina, for ten years. Previously, he held senior management positions in Pompano Beach, Boca Raton, Collier County, St. Lucie County and Pinellas Park, Florida. His municipal experience spans a period of 32 years.
