The Planning and Zoning Division administers the City’s development review process which includes zoning, site plan review, subdivision platting and related processes. In addition to the processes and applications noted below, the Division reviews Certificates of Use to insure compliance with the Zoning Code prior to issuance of a Business Tax Receipt (occupational license). We also review Building Permits for compliance with area, dimensional and related zoning requirements of the Zoning Code. We do not issue building permits. The City’s Building and Code Compliance Department issues building permits.
The City of Miami Gardens Code of Ordinances is now available on Municode.com. You can access the Zoning and Land Development Code in chapter 34 of the Code.
