Purpose & Overview
A background check is a request for an individual’s past criminal history. The information that creates this history is pulled from various databases. A request from an individual wanting their own history from the Records Unit would only entail incidents that occurred within Miami-Dade County jurisdiction.
Service Process
Background checks are done on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The cost is $5.00 per background check letter for Miami Gardens residents. We accept cash, money order, check, debit and credit cards. Please also bring a valid government issued photo ID (Florida driver’s license or Florida ID card) with proof of Miami Gardens residency listed on ID card.
Background checks may be obtained in person at 18611 NW 27th Ave, Miami Gardens, Florida 33056. Most records requests will be completed within 15-30 minutes on the day requested.
